Delete your account
Last updated: 24 October 2026
You can leave Al-Aziz Donors whenever you want. Deletion removes the details that identify you and cannot be undone. If you only need a break, pause your availability in the app instead: no request will reach you, and your profile stays for when you are ready.
In the app
The quickest route, and the one we recommend, because it confirms the request is really yours.
- Open the Al-Aziz Donors app and go to Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm. You are signed out and the deletion starts immediately.
Without the app
If you have uninstalled the app or lost access to your phone, write to [email protected] from the email address on your account, or include the phone number you registered with. We may ask one or two questions to confirm the request is yours before we act on it.
Organization console accounts are deleted the same way: write to us from the email you sign in with. If you are the only owner of an organization, transfer ownership to another member first, or ask us to close the organization along with your account.
What is removed
Your account is anonymized rather than erased outright, so that an organization’s records and our aggregate counts still add up without pointing to you. In practice this means:
- Removed: your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, weight, profile photo, location and device push token.
- Removed: your sign-in. The phone number or email can no longer open the account, and nothing you did is linked to you.
- Kept without your identity: the fact that a donor of a given blood group responded to a request, and the dates involved, so an organization’s request history and our published counts stay truthful.
- Not affected: details a requester already received when you accepted their request. We cannot recall a phone number from someone’s phone, though they remain bound by our terms on how they may use it.
How long it takes
- Immediately on request: your identifying details are removed from the live service and you stop receiving notifications.
- Within 30 days: copies in our encrypted backups are purged as they rotate.
- Email requests are actioned as soon as we have confirmed they are yours, normally within a few working days. The same timeline then applies.
Afterwards
You are welcome back any time. Registering again with the same phone number creates a fresh account; your old profile, donation history and eligibility dates do not return, so note your last donation date before you leave if you may need it.
Questions about deletion, or about anything in our privacy policy: write to [email protected].
